There are many versions of payasam, but the star of this recipe is parippu (moong dal) which is both nutritious and hearty. 3¾ cups / 2lb moong dal*
746g jaggery**
27g raisins
42g cashews
1 tablespoon ghee
800ml coconut milk
15 cardamom pods
