Biriyani is a dish made with fragrant basmati rice with meat or vegetables along with yogurt, spices and herbs. To accompany our shrimp fried rice, we wanted to introduce a new recipe - shrimp biriyani - that encompasses both rice and shrimp. Unlike the more common chicken or mutton biriyani, we are providing a new variation of biriyani that is packed with flavor and aromatics.

3 onions thinly sliced
2 teaspoon salt
2 tomatoes chopped
5 crushed garlic cloves
1¼ cups water
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon turmeric
Rice
2 cups uncooked basmati rice
5 cups water*
3 bay leaves
6 cloves
5 cardamom
1 teaspoon salt
Shrimp
300g uncooked shrimp
1 teaspoon turmeric
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon salt
5 crushed black pepper
2 cloves
Toppings
2 cups of the thinly sliced onion
2 tablespoons raisins
1 tablespoon cashews
