Sweet Potato Chapati / Roti


Stack of Sweet Potato Chapatis

Made with whole wheat flour and nutrient dense sweet potatoes, these sweet potato chapatis are delicious and comes together in 30 minutes. Chapatis has been a staple in Indian households for centuries. It only contains 3 simple ingredients of whole wheat flour (Atta), water, and salt. These chapatis are versatile and can be eaten as breakfast, lunch or dinner with a variety of dishes or on its own.

Yield: 23 chapatis

Cook time: 20 minutes

Total time: ~45 minutes



Ingredients:

  • 2¾ cups mashed sweet potato

  • 1 tablespoon crushed garlic

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • ½ teaspoon turmeric

  • 1 teaspoon chili powder

  • 1 teaspoon jeera

  • ½ teaspoon garam masala

  • ½ cup finely chopped cilantro

  • 3 cups whole wheat flour (atta)*

Notes:

*Adjust the cups of flour you need until you can form a dough and it does not stick to your hands
